Covenants Committee

Overview

Covenants Committee - The Covenants Committee, established by the SV primary governing document – the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions - oversees the established Architectural Requirements to protect the design integrity of the community and preserve the value of your property. The Covenants Committee must receive an Exterior Modification Form, with a project description, prior to a homeowner starting most exterior projects at their property. Specific Requirements may be found in the Architectural Requirements document.  The project description is evaluated individually for conformity with the Architectural Requirements, and is reviewed for proper scale, materials, colors, and any impact on neighboring properties.

What we do for Symphony Village:

  • Oversee exterior design, signage, appearance (including landscape), and use of homeowner lots to ensure accordance with existing Architectural Requirements.

  • Review Architectural Requirements concerning any additions, alterations or improvements to any portion of property visible from the exterior of the lot including:

    • Review all Exterior Modification Forms for proposed additions, improvements or alterations for conformance with the Architectural Requirements.

    • Coordinate with the homeowner if an on-site review is necessary, and request additional needed information for conformance with the Architectural Requirements.

    • Conduct monthly committee meetings to discuss each Exterior Modification Form to determine whether the request is in compliance with the established Architectural Requirements.

  • Recommend that the General Manager send either an approval letter; a letter of denial; or a conditional approval stating necessary contingencies to be met in order to receive final approval.

  • Periodically evaluate and recommend to the SV Board of Directors changes to the Architectural Requirements if necessary.

  • All appeals are reviewed and decided by the Board of Directors. Only the original EMF and its attachments are considered in the review process.
