Symphony Village Trees

The Symphony Village HOA is responsible for the care and maintenance of common area trees including street trees, Clubhouse and parking lot trees, swale trees, Taylor Mill trees, and several roundabout islands and pedestrian pathways throughout the community.  As such, inspections are performed of all common area trees and suggestions for disease and insect control and issues of health are shared with the GM and HOA Board for reconciliation.

In July 2017, Wetland Studies and Solutions Inc. (WSSI) was contracted by Symphony Village Homeowners Association, Inc. (SVHOA) to provide an assessment and inventory of all trees within the Symphony Village property (less the forested areas) at the request of the Landscape and Irrigation Committee / Tree Subcommittee.

International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborists from WSSI conducted the inventory and evaluation of the trees during August and September 2017.  The trees were measured and assessed for current condition and overall health and their location (nearest property address and Latitude/Longitude) were assigned using GIS software.

A total of 1,793 trees were evaluated with recommendations for treatment and maintenance.  These trees and others planted and removed from the community have been managed to maintain a real-time inventory with current health and historical information by the L & I committee.

The interactive map below was derived from the original and updated data to present current tree information. Click on the map and zoom in on any tree identified by a colored dot. You can pan up/down or right/left as you zoom in. Click on the tree of interest and all the data about that tree will be displayed in an information box. The tag number should correspond to the tag on the tree.

Legend

  • Notice a variety of different colors on this map. The Arborist has assigned a different color for each species of tree that exists in the community.

  • As you drill-down on the map itself you come closer and closer to a specific area and the trees begin to separate from each other.

  • If you click on an individual tree you will get the details about that tree, including the health of the tree at that point in time.

In addition to the Tree Map, which we continue to update; as new trees are planted, or older ones die off; the Arborist also provided an Arborist Report on the findings regarding all Symphony Village Trees; as well as feedback on the overall environment within our community.
