Public Comment Sought: Maryland Toll Modernization

With the new Toll Modernization system  coming online in  2020, the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) is seeking public comment on a package of toll options that would provide cost savings for customers.  The public is invited to comment on the following proposals (go to the website for all the details):
       A new Pay-by-Plate payment option which will allow tolls to be automatically billed to credit cards;
       A new vehicle classification system with lower rates; and
       A new 15% discount for Video Tolling customers.
To comment on the proposals:
       Go to the above website to submit comments online;
       Go to the above website to download a comment card to be mailed; or
       Attend one of the nine public hearings: The only hearing on the Eastern Shore is on Thursday, September 12, 6 – 8 p.m., Kent Island High school, 900 Love Point Road, Stevensville.
The public comment period ends on October 3.
